Working as a consultant at Omniarch
We asked Alexander Brache, a senior e-commerce consultant at Omniarch what's it like being a consultant that offers you the chance to work with several different brands vs. working with the tasks in/challenges around just one company?
In his words:
😊 The best parts of working as a consultant:
Freedom to work where I want
Right to prioritize from experience
More variety in diverse projects
Networking via meeting new people
-
Broadening my technical capabilities
🙃 The pitfalls I endured while working working with a sole company:
Locked in to a defined process
Less networking capabilities
Less room to experiment and try new things
Less intent to educate
🔨 Being a consultant is like showing up to a work site. Some gigs come with an instruction sheet but no supplies and others come with some wood, a hammer and a box of nails.
It is up to me in this situation to decide how I can use the tools I have to deliver on the goals my customers are interested in achieving.
❗The only way to succeed ❗
I can't help but emphasize how important it is from the beginning of every project in this case to create a roadmap with my customers in order to ensure a delivery that matches their expectation. This way I can enjoy the freedom of doing what I want, to get them what they need without intervention 🎉
